Course Name: Certificate in Construction Surveying

Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CCS/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Construction Surveying course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required for accurate surveying and measurement in construction projects. Participants will learn techniques for land surveying, topographical mapping, building layout, leveling, and setting out infrastructure projects.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Surveying: Role and responsibilities of a surveying technician, Importance of surveying in construction projects, Overview of surveying types (building, infrastructure, topographical), Key stakeholders and coordination, Surveying standards and regulations, Trends and innovations in surveying technology

Module 2: Surveying Tools and Equipment: Types of surveying instruments (total station, theodolite, GPS, levels), Calibration and maintenance of equipment, Measurement techniques and accuracy standards, Use of drones and remote sensing, Safety protocols for equipment handling, Documentation and recording of survey data

Module 3: Measurement and Data Collection: Site reconnaissance and preparation, Horizontal and vertical measurements, Setting out and alignment procedures, Elevation and contour mapping, Data recording and initial analysis, Handling measurement errors and corrections

Module 4: Surveying for Buildings: Building layout and alignment techniques, Foundation and structural element setting, Interior and exterior measurements, Monitoring and verifying construction progress, Dimensional control and quality checks, Reporting and documentation for building surveys

Module 5: Surveying for Infrastructure Projects: Road, bridge, and utility alignment surveys, Earthwork and topographical surveys, Infrastructure project measurement standards, Monitoring and inspection during construction, Geospatial data integration, Coordination with engineers and planners

Module 6: Professional Development and Communication: Effective communication with project teams and clients, Coordination and teamwork skills, Problem-solving and decision-making in surveying tasks, Ethical practices and professional responsibility, Continuing education and skill enhancement, Career growth and certification pathways

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
