Course Name: Certificate in Construction Welding Technology

Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CCWT/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Construction Welding Technology course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform welding tasks safely and effectively in construction projects. The course covers various welding techniques such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).

Get ready to join the Journey to become a GSDCI Certified Professional  – International Certification and Assessment Body.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction & Safety: Role and responsibilities of a construction welder, Occupational health hazards and PPE usage, Safety practices on construction sites, Welding hazards and risk control, Fire prevention and emergency procedures, Understanding safety signs and regulations

Module 2: Tools, Materials & Measurement: Identification and handling of welding tools and equipment, Care and maintenance of welding machines, Consumables and filler materials, Measuring instruments and tolerance limits, Field testing of materials and consumables, Material preparation and surface cleaning

Module 3: Welding Processes & Techniques: Basics of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process, Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG/GMAW) principles, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG/GTAW) fundamentals, Electroslag and Flux‑Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) overview, Oxy‑fuel welding and cutting basics, Welding in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)

Module 4: Construction-Specific Welding Operations: Preparatory works for MIG welding operations, Performing MIG welding in fabrication or on site, Preparatory works for TIG welding operations, Performing TIG welding in workshop or construction site, Preparatory work for SMAW operations, Performing SMAW as per construction requirements

Module 5: Welding Quality, Symbols & Inspection: Reading welding symbols and construction drawings, Identifying weld defects and causes, Weld inspection techniques and quality criteria, Non‑destructive testing (basic NDT) overview, Inspection tools and gauges, Recording and reporting weld quality

Module 6: Professional Skills & Workplace Readiness: Effective communication at workplace, Teamwork and work ethics on site, Time management and job planning, Basic employability skills (resume, interviews), Entrepreneurship and small business basics, Environmental awareness and waste handling

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
