Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Geotechnical Testing course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to assess and analyze soil, rock, and sub-surface conditions for construction projects. Participants will learn soil investigation techniques, sampling, laboratory testing, interpretation of geotechnical data, foundation analysis, slope stability, and ground improvement methods.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering: Role and responsibilities of a geotechnical technician, Importance of geotechnical investigations in construction, Overview of soil and rock mechanics, Key stakeholders and coordination, Safety and regulatory considerations, Trends and innovations in geotechnical engineering

Module 2: Soil and Rock Properties: Types and classification of soils and rocks, Physical and chemical properties of soils, Soil compaction and density tests, Permeability and shear strength testing, Rock quality designation and characterization, Documentation and interpretation of material properties

Module 3: Site Investigation Techniques: Planning and preparing geotechnical site investigations, Drilling, boring, and sampling methods, In-situ testing (SPT, CPT, vane shear), Geophysical survey techniques, Ensuring accuracy and reliability of data, Health and safety during site investigations

Module 4: Laboratory Testing and Analysis: Sample preparation and preservation, Laboratory tests for soil (moisture content, Atterberg limits, consolidation), Laboratory tests for rock (uniaxial compressive strength, point load test), Data recording and analysis, Interpretation of laboratory results, Reporting and documentation

Module 5: Geotechnical Design Support: Supporting foundation design (shallow and deep foundations), Slope stability and retaining structures, Earthworks and embankment construction, Ground improvement techniques, Coordination with engineers and project teams, Quality assurance and compliance

Module 6: Professional Development and Communication: Effective communication with engineers, contractors, and project teams, Problem-solving and decision-making in geotechnical tasks, Coordination and teamwork skills, Ethical practices and professional responsibility, Continuing education and skill enhancement, Career growth and certification pathways

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
