The course covers the recognition, evaluation, and control of physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards that may affect workers’ health. Key topics include air quality monitoring, noise and vibration assessment, hazardous substance exposure, ventilation systems, personal protective equipment (PPE), and regulatory standards such as OSHA, ACGIH, and ISO guidelines.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene: Definition and scope of industrial hygiene, Roles and responsibilities of an industrial hygiene assessor, Recognition of occupational health hazards, Industrial hygiene regulations and standards (OSHA, ACGIH, NIOSH), Principles of toxicology and dose-response relationships, Introduction to exposure pathways (inhalation, dermal, ingestion).

Module 2: Chemical Hazard Identification and Control: Types of chemical hazards (gases, vapors, dusts, fumes, mists), Safety data sheets (SDS) interpretation and use, Threshold limit values (TLVs) and permissible exposure limits (PELs), Control methods (substitution, ventilation, PPE), Chemical storage and handling best practices, Monitoring of airborne contaminants and vapors.

Module 3: Physical and Biological Hazard Assessment: Noise hazard evaluation and control measures, Heat stress and cold stress management, Radiation (ionizing and non-ionizing) exposure assessment, Vibration and ergonomic hazard identification, Biological hazards (bacteria, viruses, mold) in workplace environments, Use of measurement instruments for physical agents.

Module 4: Air Sampling and Exposure Assessment: Types of air sampling (personal, area, integrated, grab), Sampling equipment and calibration techniques, Sample collection for gases, particulates, and vapors, Chain of custody and laboratory analysis, Interpreting exposure data and comparing to limits, Reporting findings and recommending controls.

Module 5: Control Strategies and Program Implementation: Hierarchy of controls (elimination to PPE), Engineering control systems (local exhaust, dilution), Administrative controls and work practice modifications, Personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and use, Industrial ventilation system design basics, Developing and implementing industrial hygiene programs.

Module 6: Health Surveillance, Audits, and Reporting: Occupational health surveillance and medical screening, Recordkeeping and documentation practices, Industrial hygiene auditing and compliance checks, Incident investigation and root cause analysis, Training and awareness for workers and supervisors, Report writing, communication, and follow-up procedures.

• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
