Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Painting and Decorative Finishing course is to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the preparation, application, and finishing of paints and decorative coatings on various surfaces. The course covers surface assessment, cleaning, priming, paint types, application methods, color theory, decorative techniques, and safety practices.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Painting and Decorating: Overview of painting and decorating trade, Roles and responsibilities of a painting specialist, Types of paint and coatings, Basic decorating terminology, Understanding color theory and design principles, Safety practices in painting work.

Module 2: Surface Preparation: Assessment of surfaces (wood, metal, plaster, drywall), Cleaning and repairing surfaces, Removing old paint and coatings, Sanding and smoothing techniques, Priming and sealing surfaces, Moisture and mold treatment.

Module 3: Paints, Coatings & Color Technology: Water-based and solvent-based paints, Specialty coatings (anti-corrosion, fire-resistant, waterproof), Paint composition and properties, Color theory and color psychology, Color matching and tinting techniques, Paint quantity estimation and coverage calculation.

Module 4: Application Methods & Decorative Finishes: Brush, roller, and spray application techniques, Interior and exterior painting procedures, Decorative finishes (textures, faux finishes, stenciling), Wallpaper and wall covering installation basics, Edge cutting and detailing techniques, Quality control and finish inspection.

Module 5: Health, Safety & Environmental Practices: Hazard identification and risk assessment, Safe handling and storage of paints and chemicals, Ladder and scaffold safety, Ventilation and indoor air quality management, Waste disposal and environmental regulations, Emergency procedures and first aid awareness.

Module 6: Professional Practice & Project Management: Job planning and work scheduling, Reading drawings and specifications, Cost estimation and budgeting, Client communication and service ethics, Team coordination and supervision, Maintenance, repair, and repainting strategies.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
