Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Patient Care Support Services course aims to provide students with the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies necessary to deliver safe and compassionate patient care. The program emphasizes hands-on training in essential healthcare procedures, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities (hygiene, mobility, feeding), performing basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy and EKGs, and maintaining infection control standards.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Healthcare and Patient Care: Healthcare system overview, Roles and responsibilities of a patient care technician, Professionalism and ethics in healthcare, Communication skills with patients and staff, Patient rights and confidentiality, Cultural sensitivity and diversity in patient care

Module 2: Basic Anatomy and Physiology: Overview of human body systems, Skeletal and muscular system, Cardiovascular and respiratory system, Nervous and endocrine system, Digestive and urinary system, Reproductive and immune system basics

Module 3: Patient Care Techniques: Vital signs measurement (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), Assisting with mobility and transfers, Personal hygiene and grooming, Feeding and nutrition assistance, Positioning and range-of-motion exercises, Infection control and hand hygiene

Module 4: Medical Procedures and Safety: Basic medical terminology, Taking and recording patient observations, Assisting with medical procedures, Specimen collection and handling, Emergency response and first aid, Safety protocols and fall prevention

Module 5: Clinical Skills and Monitoring: Electrocardiogram (ECG) basics, Oxygen therapy and respiratory support, Wound care and dressing changes, Catheter care and elimination assistance, Monitoring patients with chronic conditions, Documentation and reporting in patient care

Module 6: Professional Development and Career Preparation: Time management and prioritization in clinical settings, Stress management and self-care, Teamwork and collaboration in healthcare, Preparing for certification exams, Career opportunities and continuing education, Legal responsibilities and scope of practice

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
