Objective: The Certificate in Safety Management course is designed to provide a strong foundation in occupational health and safety principles applicable across industries. It covers hazard identification, risk assessment, accident prevention, emergency preparedness, fire and electrical safety, chemical and biological hazard control, ergonomics, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Participants will also learn to develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems (SMS), conduct audits and inspections, investigate incidents, and deliver safety training.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Safety Management: Fundamentals of occupational safety and health, Roles and responsibilities of a safety specialist, Safety regulations and standards overview (OSHA, ISO, ANSI), Principles of safety culture and leadership, Hazard identification and classification, Overview of safety management systems.

Module 2: Hazard Recognition and Risk Assessment: Types of workplace hazards (physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic), Techniques for hazard identification, Risk assessment methodologies, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Task Hazard Analysis (THA), Prioritizing risks and control measures, Worker involvement in hazard assessment.

Module 3: Control Measures and Accident Prevention: Hierarchy of hazard controls (elimination, substitution, engineering controls), Personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and use, Safe work practices and procedures, Machine guarding and lockout/tagout, Fire prevention and emergency preparedness, Accident investigation and root cause analysis.

Module 4: Safety Training and Communication: Designing effective safety training programs, Adult learning principles in safety education, Communication techniques for safety messages, Conducting safety meetings and toolbox talks, Documentation and recordkeeping, Promoting safety awareness and behavioral change.

Module 5: Incident Management and Emergency Response: Incident reporting and investigation processes, Root cause analysis tools, Emergency preparedness planning, Fire safety and evacuation procedures, First aid and medical emergency response, Coordination with emergency services and authorities.

Module 6: Safety Program Development and Continuous Improvement: Developing safety policies and procedures, Conducting safety audits and inspections, Compliance monitoring and enforcement, Data analysis and safety performance metrics, Implementing corrective and preventive actions, Fostering continuous improvement and safety culture.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
