Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Solar Energy Technology course is to provide participants with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to install, maintain, and repair solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and related components. The course covers solar energy principles, system design, electrical wiring, mounting and positioning, battery storage, safety protocols, and performance monitoring.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Solar Energy Systems: Overview of solar energy and applications, Types of solar energy systems (photovoltaic, thermal), Basic solar terminology and principles, Components of solar systems, Solar radiation and energy conversion, Environmental and economic benefits of solar energy.

Module 2: Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technology: Types of solar panels and their characteristics, PV cell construction and operation, Solar panel ratings and specifications, Inverters and charge controllers, Battery storage systems, System sizing and performance factors.

Module 3: System Design and Layout: Site assessment and shading analysis, Electrical design of solar PV systems, Mounting and racking systems, Wiring and circuit design, Compliance with codes and standards, Use of design software tools.

Module 4: Installation Procedures: Safety protocols for solar installation, Mechanical installation of panels and mounts, Electrical wiring and connections, Grounding and bonding requirements, Installation of inverters and batteries, Commissioning and initial testing.

Module 5: Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Routine inspection and cleaning procedures, Diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, Testing system performance and output, Repairing and replacing components, Monitoring systems remotely, Maintaining safety during maintenance.

Module 6: Safety, Regulations, and Professional Practices: Workplace safety and use of PPE, Electrical safety in solar installations, Understanding permits and inspections, Environmental compliance and recycling, Professional ethics and customer communication, Continuing education and certification renewal.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
