Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AT/CDPP/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The course aims to equip participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills related to denim production. It covers the entire lifecycle of denim manufacturing, from fiber selection to finishing techniques. Students will learn about textile processing, the various machinery used in denim production, quality control measures, and industry standards. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Denim Production: Overview of the Denim Industry, History and Evolution of Denim, Types of Denim Fabrics and Their Uses, Key Players in the Denim Market, Denim Production Process from Fiber to Finished Fabric, Understanding Market Trends in Denim.

Module 2: Denim Fabric and Textile Technology: Composition of Denim Fabrics (Cotton, Blends, Synthetic Fibers), Types of Weaves Used in Denim (Twill, Plain, Satin), Understanding Denim Weight and Durability, Dyeing Techniques in Denim (Indigo Dyeing, Sulphur Dyeing), Types of Finishing Processes (Stone Wash, Enzyme Wash, etc.), Fabric Testing and Quality Control in Denim Production.

Module 3: Denim Garment Design and Development: Denim Garment Design Process, Creating Technical Flats and Prototypes, Pattern Making and Fitting for Denim, Garment Construction Techniques for Denim, Special Design Elements in Denim Apparel (Distressing, Embellishments, etc.), Sampling and Product Development in Denim.

Module 4: Denim Dyeing and Washing Techniques: Introduction to Denim Dyeing Processes, Indigo Dyeing and Color Techniques, Overdyeing and Customization, Understanding Denim Washing Processes (Stone Washing, Acid Washing, Sandblasting, etc.), Enzyme Treatments for Denim, Sustainability in Denim Washing Techniques.

Module 5: Denim Production and Manufacturing Process: Denim Manufacturing and Spinning Techniques, Weaving Denim Fabrics, Denim Cutting and Sewing Methods, Assembly Line and Production Management, Automation and Technology in Denim Production, Costing and Efficiency in Denim Manufacturing.

Module 6: Quality Control and Sustainability in Denim Production: Quality Standards for Denim Garments, Testing Denim Durability and Colorfastness, Addressing Common Denim Production Defects, Sustainable Practices in Denim Manufacturing, Eco-friendly Denim Production (Recycled Fibers, Waterless Dyeing), Future Trends in Sustainable Denim Production.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
