Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/HT/CPT/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Pipeline Technician course is designed to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of pipeline systems used in oil, gas, water, and other fluid transportation industries. The course covers pipeline materials, welding and joining techniques, safety standards, leak detection, corrosion control, pressure testing, and regulatory compliance.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Pipeline Technology: Overview of Pipeline Systems and Applications, Types of Pipelines (Oil, Gas, Water, Chemical), Pipeline Materials and Components, Pipeline Industry Standards and Regulations, Safety Fundamentals and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Roles and Responsibilities of a Pipeline Technician.

Module 2: Pipeline Construction and Installation: Pipeline Route Planning and Surveying, Trenching and Excavation Techniques, Pipe Handling and Storage, Welding and Jointing Methods, Pipeline Coating and Wrapping, Pressure Testing and Commissioning Procedures.

Module 3: Pipeline Inspection and Maintenance: Visual and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Techniques, Corrosion Detection and Control, Leak Detection Methods, Routine Maintenance and Repairs, Pipeline Pigging Operations, Documentation and Reporting.

Module 4: Pipeline Operations and Monitoring: Pipeline Control Systems and SCADA, Flow Measurement and Metering, Pressure and Temperature Monitoring, Emergency Response Procedures, Environmental Protection Measures, Regulatory Compliance and Audits.

Module 5: Safety and Risk Management: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Safety Protocols and Incident Reporting, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fire Prevention and Control, Health and Environmental Safety Standards, Safety Training and Certification.

Module 6: Advanced Technologies and Industry Practices: Use of Drones and Robotics in Pipeline Inspection, Smart Pipeline Technologies, Pipeline Rehabilitation Techniques, Industry Case Studies and Best Practices, Career Development and Continuing Education, Emerging Trends in Pipeline Technology.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.

• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
