Objective: The Professional Diploma in Basic Life Support Awareness is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge of basic life support procedures, emergency management, and safety practices. Module 1: Introduction to Basic Life Support: Basics of Basic Life Support (BLS), Importance of emergency life support, Role and responsibilities of a first responder, Principles of emergency care, Understanding life-threatening situations, Basic anatomy and physiology awareness, Chain of survival concept, Safety assessment before providing care, Emergency response procedures, Importance of BLS training and awareness.

Module 2: Basic Life Support Assessment and Procedures: Assessing emergency situations, Checking responsiveness of a person, Primary assessment techniques, Airway, breathing and circulation assessment, Recognition of cardiac arrest, Calling emergency medical services, Positioning an unconscious person, Maintaining airway safety, Monitoring vital signs awareness, Providing immediate support during emergencies.

Module 3: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness: Introduction to CPR, Importance of early CPR, Chest compression techniques, Rescue breathing awareness, CPR steps for adults, CPR awareness for children and infants, Use of automated external defibrillator (AED) awareness, Maintaining effective CPR cycles, Common CPR mistakes, Safety considerations during CPR.

Module 4: Emergency Response and Basic Care: Managing choking emergencies, Recovery position procedures, Handling fainting and unconsciousness, Shock recognition and management, Basic bleeding control, Injury assessment techniques, Emergency communication skills, Supporting patients before medical help arrives, Safe movement and positioning of patients, Coordinating emergency response.

Module 5: Safety Practices and Emergency Preparedness: Workplace emergency safety, Personal protection during first response, Infection prevention during BLS procedures, Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Emergency equipment awareness, Preparing emergency action plans, Risk identification and prevention, Documentation of emergency incidents, Maintaining safety standards, Promoting health and safety awareness.

Module 6: Professional Skills and Basic Life Support Management: Communication skills during emergencies, Teamwork in emergency situations, Decision-making skills under pressure, Stress management during critical events, Ethical responsibilities of first responders, Patient reassurance and emotional support, Community BLS awareness programs, Continuous learning and skill development, Professional conduct in emergency care, Future trends in life support training.
