Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Aqua Aerobics Instructor course is designed to train fitness professionals in the principles and techniques of leading safe, effective, and engaging water-based group exercise classes. The program covers the fundamentals of aquatic exercise science, water resistance training, buoyancy effects, cardiovascular and muscular endurance programming, class design, cueing, music selection, and safety considerations for diverse populations including seniors and those with limited mobility. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Aqua Aerobics and Instructor Responsibilities: History and benefits of aqua aerobics for various populations, Principles of water-based exercise and aquatic fitness training, Roles and professional ethics of an Aqua Aerobics Instructor, Understanding class formats: shallow water, deep water, circuit, interval, and dance-based, Suitability of aqua aerobics for special populations (seniors, rehab clients, prenatal), Legal considerations, risk management, and professional conduct.

Module 2: Properties of Water and Their Application in Fitness: Buoyancy, resistance, hydrostatic pressure, and water temperature effects on the body, How water properties modify exercise intensity and impact, Depth considerations for class design and movement efficiency, Understanding drag forces and turbulence in aquatic movement, Joint support and cardiovascular benefits of water training, Applying aquatic principles to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance.

Module 3: Aquatic Anatomy, Physiology, and Safety: Basic musculoskeletal and cardiovascular system overview, Understanding exercise responses in water vs. land environments, Injury prevention and contraindications in aquatic settings, Safety protocols, emergency action plans, and pool rules, Aquatic exercise adaptations for arthritis, obesity, and limited mobility, Monitoring intensity in water: RPE scale, heart rate variation, and talk test.

Module 4: Aqua Aerobics Class Design and Choreography: Class components: warm-up, cardio, strength, core, cool-down, and stretch, Music selection, BPM matching, and cueing in water classes, Choreography creation: base moves, layering, directional changes, Using aquatic equipment: noodles, aqua dumbbells, resistance gloves, Creating classes for different levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, Designing formats: HIIT, intervals, circuits, functional fitness.

Module 5: Instruction Techniques, Communication, and Cueing: Effective verbal and non-verbal cueing in noisy or echoing pool environments, Mirroring and demonstrating exercises from poolside or in water, Motivating and engaging diverse participant groups, Adjusting exercises based on participant limitations or needs, Managing group energy and maintaining safety while increasing intensity, Providing individual feedback in a group aquatic setting.

Module 6: Professional Practice, Business, and Career Development: Building your aqua aerobics business in gyms, hotels, or community centers, Scheduling, client registration, pricing strategies, and retention, Promoting classes via social media, flyers, and referral programs, Continuing education options and certifications in aquatic fitness, Networking with health professionals for client referrals, Maintaining safety certifications (CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard optional) and professional liability coverage.

• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
